Robertson Baxter

Financial advice, transformed

Neil Dickey

Biography

Neil studied accountancy at Queen’s University, Belfast, although he decided against pursuing life as an accountant when he graduated. Gaining commercial experience in a variety of roles, including a successful period of self-employment, Neil first considered working in financial services when he was impressed with an IFA he had consulted.

Deciding to pursue this as a career option himself, Neil gained experience as a tied and an independent adviser before finding his true vocation when he moved into a technical and para-planning role. Since then he’s continued to advance his professional qualifications, and was one of the first to attain the coveted Chartered Financial Planner accreditation as well as being a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and the Personal Finance Society.

Having crossed professional paths with Greg and Stephen previously, Neil was delighted to later be invited to support Robertson Baxter. He works alongside Greg and Stephen in all aspects of research and report writing, using a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis to help to ensure the most appropriate solution for clients according to their preferences, circumstances and objectives.

When not engaged in Robertson Baxter work, Neil is frequently utilised by a number of financial planning learning solution providers as a subject-matter expert and technical specialist, particularly with regards to pensions, taxation and business financial planning.

An enthusiastic golfer (handicap 17), Neil has a wife and a young family, as well as a dog and a penchant for reading and pub quizzes to keep him fully occupied in his spare time.
